Three Materials
Countertops, by material.
Every slab in our Coburg studio falls into one of three families. Each has a different place in a kitchen, a different budget, and a different life span. Here's how we think about them.
A Short Primer
"We'll help you pick the right stone for the room, the light, and the way you actually live — then we'll show you honest price ranges before anything is templated."

Material · 01
Granite.
The workhorse of natural stone — formed in the earth over millions of years and, once sealed, near-impossible to scratch or burn. Every slab is one-of-one. We carry 60+ colors at any time, from quiet Steel Grey to dramatic Blue Bahia.
Best for: high-traffic kitchens, outdoor kitchens, homes with small children, and anyone who wants a counter that will outlive the cabinets under it.

Marble.
The classic — and the most honest. Marble takes a patina; a busy kitchen will etch it and that's the point. If you love the way a Parisian bakery's counter looks after thirty years, marble is your stone. Carrara, Calacatta, Statuario, and a rotating selection of Italian and Vermont pieces.
Best for: baking kitchens, showpiece islands, primary-bath vanities, and owners who want a counter that tells a story.

Quartz.
Engineered from crushed quartz and resin, non-porous, and never needs sealing. Modern quartz mimics marble veining beautifully — our Caesarstone, Cambria, and Silestone samples are in the showroom. If you want the look of Calacatta without the patina worry, this is your stone.
Best for: busy families, rental properties, commercial kitchens, anyone who wants a low-maintenance slab that looks like marble but behaves like stainless steel.

Also In The Studio
Beyond the big three.
Quartzite
Natural stone with the look of marble and the durability of granite. Harder than granite, cooler than it looks. Perfect for a main kitchen where you want pattern without compromise.
Soapstone
Soft, matte, and impossibly tactile. Ages into a deep blue-black with mineral oil. We love it for butler's pantries, wet bars, and traditional kitchens with wood cabinetry.
Exotic & Reclaimed
Onyx, dendritic quartzite, semi-precious agate, and the occasional reclaimed slab from Oregon estates. Call the studio to ask about current curated inventory.
Edge Profiles
Twelve profiles,
milled in house.
Every edge on every counter is shaped in our Coburg shop. Eased, bullnose, ogee, chiseled, mitered, and a few custom profiles we'll develop for a project if the room asks for it. Sample boards are in the showroom for every material family.
